XA1 charging problem

I have a charging problem with my XA1, when the phone charges it is super slow back getting 100% it takes hours, and once I unplug the phone, the battery drains super fast, It has to stay plugged in to electricity for me to use it long term and there is a red light on the whole time.

I did a factory reset to get rid off all the apps to see if it helped and it didnt, I replaced the original battery and the phone acts the same way with the replacement, it does have all the firmware updates 8.0 Oreo  so my only conclusion is that its not the battery at all, perhaps its a bad charging port?

Hi @KinguShisa, sorry to hear about this.

Have you also tried performing a software repair using Xperia Companion? This is a bit different from a factory reset and it will wipe the internal storage of the device and reinstall the latest available software.

If you still experience the same behaviour, your device will need to be examined by a trained technician at one of our authorized service centres and your Local support team will assist you further and answer any questions you may have regarding service routines, warranty and consumer laws.
