Xperia XA1 Ultra Videos Pixely And Very Sharp

While scrolling down in the fcebook app, every single video i watch is very pixely and sharp. it looks so bad and also on the youtube app every single video is very sharp and pixelated. lower the quality the worse it gets but in 720p or 1080p it looks okay kinda but its still very SHARP. any app that has any type of video will look like its sharp and pixely. is it just me or? ive tried every screen setting there is to fix it but no luck. anyone else having the same problem? ive wanted this phone before it cam eout i was so excited but now im just sad.

Just got my replacement. and this one does it too. im so upset right now. maybe wait for an update to fix it? because on facebook the videos play HD for 0.5 seconds then turn to complete crap (sharp and pixely)

Also while using the camera in video mode still has the sharp and pixel problem. It looks like everything is 240p but the front camera is perfect. Also on Snapchat recording a video looks like it's 240p and 1MP camera. Looks nothing like what a 21MP camera should look like. Any form of video on this device looks absolutely disgusting. And the screen has so much drag to it.

i feel like an idiot. just turn off image inchancement in display settings. makes everything look great again. fixed.

Hi I'm facing the same problem! It's so disheartening considering that I had waited for this phone since long and bought it last Monday! Facebook, insta, YouTube, Snapchat - The videos are just bad like you've perfectly explained.

And to find out that there are more handsets with the same problem is pathetic. I really hope I could just switch on/off to straighten this out. 

I don't want to change or return my phone -  I like love Xperia - but I didn't sign up for this. 

TL;DR: Videos on every video supporting platform are crappy. How do I fix it!! HELP! 

P.S. 'image enchancement' option was off the whole time. Switched it on, still no difference.

I know how you feel. I've waited ages for this phone but now that I have it, it's not what I expected. My z3 has more features. I'm really sad. Not water resistant or have any great flagship features. But I did fix the pixely crap videos by turning off image enchancement. You said yours if off but it's still crap? I'd replace it or software repair it.

I had a 2-3 year old Z1 before this. Though it was pretty worn out in the end, it worked well. I miss it! I was hoping for a better experience and upgrade with XA1 Ultra, especially because of the huge screen, but this is turning into a big dud. I've dropped in a mail, let's see what they reply. 

BTW, is your handset working fine now? If so, there is hope for mine. *fingers crossed*

I was having the same issue... But after turning off the Image Enhancement option, it cleared it up.

So YES there IS hope!!

I feel you, you're not alone, I have the same problem with my phone, is so annoying when I wanna watch videos in Facebook
