I recently (~1 month ago) switched phones from an iphone 5s to an Xperia XA2 and have - so far - had a number of disapointments!
1. The Alarm doesn't work - I have an alarm set for 7am weekdays. The phone however, took this as a suggestion since the alarm will work randomly, sometimes It goes off, mostly it doesn't - fortunately my wife's iphone's alarm is set for the same time. How in the world is a phone put on the market with an issue like this - and according to several forums, this is a known issue (?!)
2. I have a Sony radio on my car, and I have used it for quite some time. I used to use it with my old iphone, for bluetooth conversations, listening to music over bluetooth, etc. and it worked seamlessly - in comes the XA2 and off goes the seamlessness of use. With the XA2, even tough I've set the Sony Media App to NEVER open when connected to a bluetooth device, what happens EVERY TIME? The freaking App opens. And once it does, good luck listening to a podcast on Google Podcast or even, many times, listening to Spotify.
3. I own a Fitbit tracker, which connects via bluetooth to my phone. Again, with the iphone, seamless connectivity, on time flawless notifications on the Fitbit. With the Xperia XA2? Notifications? Sure, but only when the phone feels like it. Most of the times, I get NO notifications and I have my phone set to silent at the office and rely on the fitbit to get notifications from calls, messages, etc.
After a great experience with past Xperia phones, such as the Xperia T, I never even thought about buying an Android other than a Sony, but this phone has been a massive letdown, and had I the chance to return it, I honestly would (I'm past the 2 week return period now). I don't honestly think this phone is good enough to be on the market based on all the quirks it has and on how the functionalities I mentioned seem to work on a whim rather than consistently - as the majority of brands do. I have a work Huawei phone and that thing, flimsy at if looks/feels never had any issues with the Alarm - and this is a very, very basic yet fundamental functionality for us working types.
I havent experienced any alaram issues, but bluetooth connectivity starting from 3 security updates ago has gone crazy. I got this phone for free from work and, except for the BT issues, it is a pretty good phone, but I will not be buying another Sony phone, BT is serious enough issue to not just ignore it across several models (models, not phones, XA2 isnt the only one affected), so therefore just keep on trucking sony to nowheresville witht his shoddy software support and no headphone jacks.
