hi there.
recently sony has launched new firmware i.e 10.1.1.A.1.253...
i was thinking to update my phone but i thought to make a backup of stock firmware...
so here is the question->
if i update my phone and the new firmware is not so good and if i want to revert back to my old firmware can i do so and if i can ,can i still update using sony companion and also if yes in the previous context can you please tell me how to backup firmware...
it stuck me because in samsung phones once you update via kies to a firmware and you revert back(maybe using flashtool) to stock firmware then you are not able to update
via samsung kies...
my current firmware:10.1.A.1.434
thanks for looking in...
Solved! Go to Solution.
you can NOT downgrade/revert to previous firmware using SUS or PCC or Bridge, this will either update to any available firmware or reinstall the current firmware, you will have to use Flashtool to revert/downgrade.

I believe that once you update, it is permanent. Of course there will always be a way to revert but none endorsed by Sony (flashtools and such..) and you might void warranty.
You can find in depth information, if you decide to apply those methods, on XDA Forum.
I recommend backing up personal content (even though they are not missed, assuming everything goes smoothly on update) as firmware can't be backed up nor does it need to. You can always download the generic rom to flash.
Don't worry too much. Most of the reports from users who have already updated seem positive, camera alone looks to be doing much better as they say. I'm still yet to update, even though I already can, haven't found the time yet.

hi there buddy,if i m not mistaken i read in a blog of sony that we can revert back to the stock rom using sony companion repair tool...so i just was confirming that how to do it and how to prevent any bad to my phone...
It's always been irreversible for me, but now I'm in doubt. Any Sony moderator could shine a light on this?

what exactly is it that you want to read?
