Hi All, my old mate died suddenly recently and his wife would like to get into his phone for the photos they had. It’s a Sony Experia, I’m not sure which model. Any advice would be appreciated!
cheers

Sorry to hear that!
Unfortunately, knowing the screen lock password is a must and any other solution to get inside the phone will erase everything.
Thanks, Is there anyone at Sony who might be able to help?
No, I'm afraid Sony advises with the same thing.
Try the first 4 numbers of his or her birthday or other significant date to him like marriage date.
Does it have a removable micro SD card like Samsung phones? If you pop that in a card reader you will be able to get any photos off it.
Hi thanks for the replies.I'm not sure if this model xperia has an sd card.
Hi @dafyddapw, which Xperia model have you got? I'm afraid a SD card reader is not guaranteed as well 😞 You can actually restore the date if there was a backup created before, but it requires knowing the registered Gmail account and password to access the backup.
Google is your friend.
I'd bet when you explain the case and prove the facts that Google is willing to help.
If the phone is set properly Google has the backup.
The mail address and password of the Google account may be key.
Yes, you can check the Google password as a last option and can you also confirm your phone model to check if there's any work around.
