security updates 1 II

Does anyone know for how long the xperia 1 II will get security updates? I love this phone but only 2 years of software support makes me seriously consider jumping ship..

I don't know the exact number but yea it's about 2 or 3 years. However, before ''jumping ships'' know that all manufacturer's do that, except Google and Apple, cause they literally own their OS. 
So if you want a device with a couple of extra years either check Pixel phones, or iPhones.

Given it came out in may 2020 that means the last one has either been or will come soon.. and yeah.. I've been doing some research and that does seem to be the case.. Samsung is apparently making an effort to support their phones a bit longer but if the new Iphone gets USB C I think I'm taking my business there..

Well it's gonna happen because they're actually forced to do it, not because they suddenly wanted to make us happy and use type-C ports and chargers XD.
