Xperia 1 II - How to set screen lock with dimmed screen until press power button?

Evening everyone,

We bought two Xperia 1 II's when they were released, each with the Sony fold around case. Have worked perfectly all this time.

But the one case got damaged we could only replace with the Sony XQZ-CBAT case .... the one without the fold around flap and read stand. 

All good but we cannot work out how to lock the screen with the display defaulted off. If the screen is tapped, or phone picked up, the display goes bright. It is still locked but the display comes on and the battery usage is much higher as a result.

Ideal would be for screen to stay off until power button is pressed. Is that possible to do and if so, what options do we need to set please?
