I have always been a Sony Xperia phone user since I Had my x10 and progressed on with other models including the waterproof Z3 model
Then...
The screen came away, from lack of glue and it damaged my confidence in Sony products
I turned to Huawei and found their phones are pretty good even at basic range, sadly the USA aren't too friendly with Chinese Manufacturers at present and my contract was up. My Huawei handset was the lite products (basic handsets) and for this basic handset I got pretty much everything I wanted with exception to gorilla glass.
I turned down insurance as I've never had a phone screen crack...
Well this phones screen did crack because it was plain glass, as luck would have it I'm a software developer and savvy with pc building, so I braved it out and took my first attempt at fixing a phone myself, I managed to get a brand replacement screen and frame for £15.00, as good as new.
I opted for a Xperia 10, as I needed to pay for an upfront fee with Huawei products and my contract was up.
Am I happy with the product...
Mixed feelings
I'm missing the app lock feature Huawei offer by default, had to download an app for it, camera quality is better with their i5 processor, after all makes no difference what the megapixels are if the processor is poor, I got like for like with the camera and finger print reader. Double tap isn't as effective on the xperia
Whilst the screen is bigger and gorrila glass 5 it doesn't expand the video so whilst you do not get the bars at the bottom you certainly do on the sides... A lot of blank space
Does a bigger screen mean more battery usage, most likely and does Sony give you a bigger battery....
Unfortunately not it still has a less than 3000 battery pack
Pros
I like the finger print reader on the side, much better than Huawei on the back and on the front of their Pro versions
Thanks for your comments.
This is a Sony forum and every brand has its pros and cons, Sony as well as the others.
Main thing is that you're happy with your device.
