Xperia 10 plus is slow and also drains battery fast

Dear Sony

I know the product is still new and there are optimization on the way.

I do notice that the i4293 is much slower than a Asus Zenfone 5 which is 1 year old and has the same processor which is the SD636. BTW the i4293 has 6GB RAM while ZE620KL has only 4. example I play real racing 3 and it lags in frame rates. it is hard to play games like temple run 2 as the touch response is not good, it misses swipes.

the other thing is that the battery drain is very bad. i now keep it charge to 80% then unplug. battery life is only about 4 hours. when i sleep it definately drains about 10%. it is so bad that i have to keep Stamina mode on all the time to get almost a day of usage.

Please do update the SW and do improve on speed and battery life.

Bad unit. I have XPERIA 10 and it hasn't any lags. Loading apps is a little slower, but it is working good and fast. Battery is good. Return it or send it to repair. It is bad unit.

Hi there,

I can imagine you will be disappointed.

Maybe you should investigate what is causing this lagging and drain.

- Goto settings and search for consuming apps and find out what's going on.

- Try in safe mode if the device is draining so fast as well

- Ultimate test: do a software repair with Xperia Companion, don't restore your backups, just install the badly needed apps and see if the lagging and drain is better.

@tomo100brt you got a point however how do I prove that battery and speed is a problem? Is there any app to measure this?

Do you use Adaptive Battery?

Mine performs normal, I guess, the battery is lacking short for an intensive 2am lifestyle. 

When gaming PUBG like 4 hours, (I'll try to get a more accurate timing.) However, I noticed something that my Xperia XZ2P could do. If I use a Sony QuickCharge UCH12 while playing it can charger by 100% by the end of a game or two. But on the Xperia 10 Plus it drains faster than it can charger. I have to stop playing at some point.

Can’t agree more - Xperia 10 battery life!!!

Can’t believe this is the ‘upgrade’ for the XA2 - which had excellent battery life - some times I got almost a day and a half from the XA2 - the Xperia 10 barely gets me to 8pm or about 10 hours of basic use (hardly any calls - just basic emails and WhatsApp..)

Hopeless Sony, just hopeless!

Maybe you can read a bit and investigate.

Goto settings -> battery and scroll down which apps are using energy.

Tap on the 3 dots in the upper right corner and find Consuming Apps.

On my device Spotify was consuming in the background together with a weather app, Outlook and Firefox.

Insight helps avoid battery drain.

goto battery 

click three dots on top right

select power saving exceptions

there you will see 19 grey out application which is preset by Sony which is drawing battery and running in your background. this is why this phone is so slow and battery draining. Mine is 19 how many greys do you get? Do share.

Thanks for this information, I just contacted Sony Xperia and got my query resolved from them immidiately. Once i contacted then in reguard of 3 way call on iPhone but they took almost a week to resolve my query. It is very kind of Samsung community that helps in very shot time and resolve the concerned issue within no time as compared to iPhone service centers.
