Free software

Hello everyone I'm new here

But having recently got back into photography after a few years away I

See how things have moved on, still after finding a reasonable priced A68

I would like to know what is the best free photo editing software for editing

In both jpeg and raw? I used to use Adobe photo shop but I'm sure things have

Moved on.

Hi @Taz634

The adobe software applications quite probably are the most used today. There is also free software from Sony, Imaging Edge Desktop, but it will not be as comprehensive.

I think of two options for raw editing free software,

Darktable (https://www.darktable.org/install/), and

RawTherapee (https://rawtherapee.com/). Both are similar.

For manipulating images, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, etc, there is

GIMP (https://www.gimp.org/).

It also uses a plugin from darktable or RawTherapee which can open raw images as well.

All three are free and can be installed on Linux, macOS or Windows.

I hope they will help.
