Help please :) - A7iii / Movie / Manual / I can't change the aperture manually???

Hi - I can't figure this out and hope someone can help. I can't change the aperture in manual mode.

Do you know why?

Sony A7iii

Mode Dial = Movie

Exposure Mode = Manual

I have the front and back dials set to AV/TV.

I can change the shutter speed but not the aperture. Any idea why? Can you help?

Doh!

I think I have just found that I had to click the lens aperture ring over to an "A" setting.

I had assumed the "A" stood for automatic - which I didn't want - but in fact I can now manually change the aperture from the camera dial so my problem is solved.
