We recently got a PS5 which has been hooked up to the same HDMI port as my PS4 Pro. I'm finding that half the time when the PS5 is switched on, the TV automatically switches on to the correct HDMI input, however no picture is displayed. The only way I can get it to show the picture is by pressing and holding the TV remote power button until the 'Restart' option appears, once the TV has done a full reboot the PS5 input displays correctly.
Anybody have any idea what the cause might be?
Hi,
Could be a cable quality issue. Please try with a quality cable that meets the specifications.
Cheers
Peter
It’s the cable that came with the PS5 so does meet specification, but I’ll try another.
Hi,
Yeah I’m on the latest version of the TV software

Have you tried a different HDMI port?
I disabled HDMI-CEC on the PS5 and re-enabled and touchwood it’s not happened since. Will see how I get on!
It’s still doing it unfortunately, so I’ve replaced the HDMI cable with a new one and I’ve still got the intermittent problem of it not seeing the PS5 when it was switched on.
I can try swapping the ports with another device if required just a bit of a faff because each of my ports is configured for the device connected.
