Latest firmware update
Hi my KD-43XD8088 tv was updated yesterday and I have lost bbc iplayer, my5 and itvhub- message 'this feature is unavailable'. This is very disappointing as it is only 4 years old. Is this something I can fix myself or are Sony just determined to push their own pay-for apps? I've done a reboot and turned it off at the wall etc.
Thanks

With the previous firmware I had all the UK catchup apps including All4 side loaded and had them on the Apps favourites. The only one that's working after the update is My5. None of these apps can be side loaded any longer and they can only be accessed via the Youview app, on my AG9 anyway.

I just unplugged the TV and left for a minute and the iPlayer and in my case the channel 4 links reset and all was well. But I have still lost my access to BBC text and the 4 colour buttons now do not do anything. Oh yes, the info button no loner works. Normally updates are fully tested before being released did Sony do this action?

Many thanks. Indeed All4 is also missing. I have retuned with youview off and on and reset the tv several times. Iplayer, itvhub, my5 and all4 all work on youview catchup but cannot be accessed from the Sony home menu even though the bbc and all4 icons are there. The latest software update is a step backwards for my 4 year old KD-43XD8088 which otherwise is a superb tv.

Are you able to find the All 4 or BBC iPlayer from the Sony select app or from the YouView app in the player option or is it in the home menu only?

bbciplayer and itvhub now is by using the programme guide. They have all
been removed from the home menu screen.

Hey valdelafougere, updating the TV system software may remove applications from Favorites. In your case, this is at least my hunch, it removed the functional icon. Try removing the icons from the Home screen, then add them again HOME — Add app to favorites.
Let me know if that worked.

not available as options to add back. Oddly, I have an old youview box
supplied by plusnet which has all these and more as well as live pause tv
so I shall use that. 0/10 to Sony for the latest software update.

Hey, this is weird, I tried searching but couldn't find anything. Do you have this SW https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-xd80xx_x80xxd-series/kd-43xd8088/download... ? Did you try disconnecting the Wi-Fi and restarting your router?

I still have no iplayer, itvhub, all4 or my5 accessible in the youview
menu.
