My XE8596 was bricked a couple of weeks ago by the latest firmware update!
I’ve been lucky and Sony have given me an XF9005 as a replacement which I received yesterday.
Powered up the new set this evening, and guess what, there’s a firmware update and I’m not sure what to do!
Does anyone know of any issues with this model and the update??

It looks like only XE90 and XE85 could be bricked by the update. XF90 should be safe. As safe as you can be with a Sony product. Software on those TVs is a mess. As is the Sony technical support...
