Hi,
I’ve just received a new 49xf9005 TV and use Sky Q, Sony BDP-S760 and a Yamaha YSP-2200 sound bar.
With my previous TV (a non 4K UHD Phillips model), I ran my Sky Q box and the BDP via hdmi to the Yamaha then into the TV via ARC hdmi so the sound bar picked up the audio.
If I do the same with the new Sony, Sky Q response is I don’t have a UHD TV connected, so I’ve run an hdmi from the Sky box into the tv and an hdmi from the Sony ARC to the Yamaha ARC. I have then switched the TV sound to Audio System but I don’t get sound.
Do I need an optical cable from the Sky Q box to the Yamaha or am I missing something else? It’s probably obvious but not to me!
Any/all advice will be gratefully received.
thanks, Rob.

Hi @robderr
What audio setting have you set on the Sky Q box? I would start at the bottom "Normal" then move up testing to see if you have sound. I assume that you have connected the Sky Q box to HDMI 2 with Enhanced enabled on the TV.
Sky Q -> Home -> Settings -> Setup -> Audio visual -> Digital audio output HDMI.
KD-49XF9005 -> Home -> Settings -> External inputs -> HDMI signal format -> Enhanced format.
Have you set the input on the YSP-2200 to "TV"?
Another thought. Is your TV still on Android 7.0. There is a problem with the latest firmware Oreo Android 8.0.
I would disconnect the Soundbar at the TV end initially, and play the Sky Q box through the TV speakers, which will probably require you to use @LightFoot‘s advice above, until you hear sound.
Also ensure that BRAVIA Sync, Sony’s proprietary name for its CEC control, is enabled in the TVs Settings Menu.
Then switch off the TV, reconnect the Soundbar, to the ARC-enabled HDMI port on the TV, and switch the TV on again.
With my YSP-2500, the model after yours I think but still very similar, this will cause the TV to fire up the Soundbar, which will display ARC on its little screen, the sound will play through the Soundbar, and the TV speakers will mute themselves.
Hopefully, yours will do the same, with no need to make any special input selection on the Soundbar, nor any special audio output setting on the Sony TV.
Many thanks. I’ve managed to get them talking.
Many thanks, combination of yours and the others posters response really helped.
