HI
I have new Corsair headphones for the PC, thought they would be compatible with the new TV KD-55A85 since it is Bluetooth. However puts up error message due to the fact it uses a USB dongle.
I believe you need a different type; can anyone help with any good , like SONY, compatible wireless headphone I could use.
Many Thanks

Hi royabrown2, many thanks for reply
Yip, I was starting to think that, exclusive for PC but not TV, just needed an input like from yourself to confirm.
Will look around for another cheaper 'Bluetooth' set; I believe they have to support the ADP profile, if too expensive then drop to traditional wired as there is a jack at the side. Tempted to go for Sony gear as Sony TV but not really required I guess.
So in general I need a pair of phones without dongle, true Bluetooth for connection to other devices.
Will go and search now.
Thanks

Hi @gusto1
Literately any common Bluetooth headphones that support the A2DP Bluetooth profile. No dongle required as it is already built into the TV.
Hi,
Thanks for getting a post to me, appreciate it. Been away or would have replied before this time.
Tried again without dongle and just sits there searching, then tried with PC USB dongle and this time "headphone connected" appears so all good followed on 15 secs by " feature is not available because app(s) is disabled"
Strange thing is if you switch off headphones Google Play pops up?. Now it's an app but has nothing to do with headphones I would have thought. Prior to trying anything I did disable all apps for security reasons until I swot up on how android TV's connect.
The dongle for Corsair HS70 does use IQUE software on PC so maybe that, but would prefer without dongle but does not go anywhere; I'm puzzled.

The ‘dongle’ is the wireless transmitter for the headphones, which are not Bluetooth, but some proprietary system. So you won’t get anywhere without it plugged in.
You won’t even get anywhere without the necessary driver(s) behind the dongle. You get these on a PC, a PS4 or a PS5, but not apparently anything else, and certainly not on this TV.
It looks like when you use the dongle in the TV it gets some power, and has enough smarts to detect the headphones. But there’s nothing on the other side of the link, when the dongle is plugged into the TV, for it to work with.
Better send the Corsair headphones back, or use them strictly for gaming only, and get some Bluetooth headphones to work with the TV.
