My uncle gave me his Xperia C4 to fix since it wasn't turning on for some reason. He never updated the phone or did anything else besides just using it. This is the unlocked version from Best Buy. There are no lights and none of the buttons do anything. When you plug it in to charge, the notification led turns red and the lcd backlight will turn on for just a second and the phone vibrates once, but then turn off and nothing happens except the red light stays on.
I googled and tried a few things. Push the little off pinhole button once. Tried it two minutes. Tried holding the power button for quite a while. Tried holding it with volume down, then volume up, then all three buttons. Nothing worked. Then I downloaded Xperia Companion and tried a software repair. It finishes and tells me to disconnect the phone and restart it. It still doesn't turn on or do anything. If I charge it, the phone will have a red light, but instead of lighting up the lcd backlight for a second like before, it will just vibrate once, then again, then again, once every 30 seconds or so.
