HT-A5000 5.1.2 or 7.1.2

Hello! I want to ask bcs I can't find in manual when I connect to my hta5000 soundbar sa rs5 and sa sw5 how many channels I get? Soundbar is 5.1.2 and after connection I have 7.1.2? Or stay 5.1.2?

Thanks for answering.

The amp has 5.1.2 channels, Left, Right, Centre, Left Rear, Right Rear (5). Subwoofer(1). Left Height, Right Height (2)

When you connect separate Rears and Subwoofer, these take over the job of handling these channels from the speakers on the soundbar (which will be doing the best they can, but only virtually or in a limited way). It looks like height remains virtual, or at least the best that upward-firing speakers on the soundbar can do.

I think the ninth channel may be the one that drives the centre channel option on those Sony TVs that support this.

Hi @Actros   Adding speakers does not add available channels which is limited by the amplifier and its decoding capabilities, which is 5.1.2.
