I recently was trying to add Contacts to my mobile phone. It asked 4 questions and on all 4 I clicked on "deny accesss" and now it seems that I cannot add any contacts. I did not realise what I was doing. Is there any way to undo this?
When I go to apps and click the Contacts icon it wont allow me to go any futher, it says that I have denied permissions. But it doesn't tell me how I can change it.

Hi again!
Oh, that seems strange that everything was greyed out, was the application deactivated perhaps? I guess it's hard to remember now since you have performed a factory reset already.
Regarding icons on the home screen, if you tap and hold down on it, you should be able to drag it to the top of the screen where you will see a text that says "Remove from home screen" and then the icon should be removed. This also works for removing other icons from the home screen.
There is a lot of things to learn and since Android is a very open system, you can do a lot more compared to other operating systems in smartphones. This will of course make the learning curve a bit longer, but in the end, I think it's for the best.

Let me know if there is anything else and have a nice day!
Hi @CThompson, welcome to our forum!
Start by going to Settings > Apps > Contacts > Permissions and make sure that you enable all permissions here, other wise you won't be able to save contacts.
Let me know if that helps!
Jonas,
The Permissions thing is all greyed out and unusable.
But since everything was relatively new on my phone, what I did last night is I set everything back to factory default. That worked, of course
However, then I was trying to get rid of some of the Contacts I didn't recognise on my Contacts list and I clicked something that caused this one Contact to have a shortcut to them on my phone home page and now I can't get rid of it. I had deleted the Contact and so now when I tap this Contact it says that it doesn't exist, and so I can't delete it.
I am new to having an Android type of phone, and so I am going to have to learn everything on here, I guess.

Thank you so much! I just now tried dragging it to the top and was able to deliete it!
You have been a real help to me and I appreciate it. I wasn't looking forward to having to start all over again and reset it to factory default and re-add all my stuff if I couldn't find a solution
I just wanted to apologise too that it took me awhile to get back with you on this. I am in the process of moving to another house in just a couple of days and things have been pretty hectic for me. And I didn't even see your answer till now.
@CThompson, you're very welcome and no worries!
I hope everything went/goes well with the move and have an awesome weekend!
