Hi everyone!
I got a new Xperia L1 today, having used the M4 Aqua for the past year and a half or so.
I was very happy with the M4, but recently it stopped being able to charge (an issue with the phone, obviously, not the cable - all cables produced the same result, in case anyone thought I was a complete idiot lol).
I looked into options for getting it fixed, but for the price I figured I might as well get a new phone, since it was about time and I was feeling restricted with only 8GB anyway. The power trickled down bit by bit until there was none left (earlier today)
Anyway, I'm dilligent about backing up and have backed up all my data every day until the phone conked out to the internal SD card.
So I mounted the SD card into my new L1 today and went to restore the data. But when I try to restore it, it simply says "Could not restore".
When I connect my phone to my laptop, I can see the Sony BnR folder on the SD card, and sure enough, it has conversations, contacts, call log files in there. Yet it won't restore them?
The media files that were on the SD card are accessible on the L1 as you would expect - all my music albums, all my photos, all my videos are available in the associated apps, so I'm as sure as I can be that there's not a problem mounting the SD card.
I really hope someone can help; I made sure to always back up my data since I knew I'd always want it.
It's the conversations I will miss most of all - special messages from family and friends etc. I'm very sentimental, and it probably sounds silly, but those text convos mean a lot to me haha!
Thanks in advance for your help!
I'm sorry to say this but you won't be able to access that backup with your new phone.
Oh no, that's sad
Is there anything at all that I could try? Willing to try pretty well anything?
Hi
I'm having the exact same problem with a new XA2. Did you ever find a solution to this issue?
If you can see the B&R from your computer, you may be able to copy them to your PC, or the cloud. Could you then restore from the copy?
