Xperia L1 - Simlock code menu won't show up.

Hello everyone!
I have this phone for a while, but it's blocked. I want to unblock it via code but i can't, cause the code menu (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMihySlcTlo 1:36) won't show up, after turning this phone on it's goin' straight to a normal menu and i have no idea where can i unblock it if it this menu won't open at the start. Any ideas?
Thank you.

are you certain that the phone its locked? if it is just insert the SIM card, you should be prompted to enter the code

Yes, i am certain. I tried two sim different cards and issue is the same, it goes straight to the menu and at the top of the screen i got written that the SIM card cannot be recognized.

@May-g

can you open the phone app and dial*#*#7378423#*#*   wait > service info > SIM lock

take a screenshot and post or just type what you see here

Hi @May-g,

That sounds very strange and just as @uliwooly mentioned, a screenshot of this menu would be very helpful, just so we can see if the device is actually network locked or not, as I have not heard about any case where the menu does not show up on a device that is locked to a network when starting the device up with a SIM card from a different operator.

Are the SIM cards that you have tried in the device activated by the operator? Since you mentioned that there is a text saying that the SIM card is not recognized at the top of the display.

Access the menu according to the instructions > press and hold the power button > Take screenshot and upload it here, so we can have a closer look at it.

Thank you! Slightly_smiling_Face

Thank you for your help and sorry that it took me that long to response. Here are the screens:

On the top it says - 'No sim card, no service', but i tried this sim card on a different phone and it's works good.

The reason the menu doesn't pop up it's simple, you are out of attempts to unlock the phone, either you or someone attempted to unlock the phone multiple times with an incorrect code. you will have to contact your local support center to get the counter reset.

Thank you for  your reply, but i think this this is not an issuea, cause i got 5 retries, nobody was attempting to unlock this phone before. I checked three sim cards and the issue is that phone is only recognizing original Vodafone UK sim card and didn't recognize my two Polish cards and that's why i can't even attempt to unlock this phone Slightly_frowning_Face

Hi again @May-g!

It looks a bit strange on the screenshots, did you use the service menu or did you use a downloaded application? Normally it looks a bit different, but can be because of operator customization and so forth.

You mention that only the Vodafone SIM card is recognized, are the two Polish SIM cards activated or work in a different device?

As it says "retries" and not tries, I do believe that there are no tries left and it shows you how many has been used, as you don't get the menu on the device to type in the code.

You can of course get in touch with the operator that locked the device and see if they have any other way of removing the operator lock, but inserting a new SIM from a different operator, is the standard way of doing it.

Could you please check in the menu again, because it should like it does below.

[X] Network 10. This means that the device is operator-locked and that you have 10 attempts to enter the code.

Thank you!
