Lost back up with upgrade

Hi everyone.

Everyone seems very helpful here. I can not work out how to do 2 things.

1. I can not work out how to put my contacts and texts back on my phone sinc the recent upgrade. I have attempted to download apps from other recommendations on here but have not been successful.

2. Also since the update my Wi Fi is also not working correctly. It connects to my Wi Fi however it tells me that i only have limited connectivity.

I am pretty rubbish with htis as i have not been able to do the above from other links. Please can some one do me a massive favour and provide me a step by step?

many many thnks

Chris

Not sure if you still are having problems installing the Back up and Restore application on your phone.

If you are here are the steps to do it.

Note : In Android 2.3, the Backup and Restore App is not available by default.
It is also not available to be downloaded from the Android Market.

In order to get it, you need to download the Backup and Restore app apk file from http://www.elita-clan.com/downloads/backup_and_restore_v010935.apk
This apk file should be placed in the phone's SD card.

You can first download the B&R apk file to your PC and then transfer it to your phone's SD card via the USB cable

Now go to your phones's Settings menu ----> Applications ---> Unknown sources( Select/Tick the box)

Next you will need a file manager to install it.

You can use Astro File Manager
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.metago.astro&feature=search_result

Once you have installed Astro, Launch it
Navigate to the B&R apk file that is on the SD card.

Tap on it once and a pop up menu will appear.
Select Open App Manager ----> Select Install

That's it.

Thank you to all that helped with the above issue.

I still have the issue with my wi fi connectivity.

At the top the wi fi connect lights up in white when it is 'connected.' But it has not connected, i get an error message and it says:

"An error occured while fetching data [hostname in certificate dont match: !=" It then has the wi fi address i have attempted to connect to.

Does anyone know or undestand what this means?

Again many thanks

Chris
