DLNA with KD-49X8505B how to show video in a folder view

I have a fantastic KD-49X8505B , best TV ever.

I love the apps even, netflix UHD etc etc

I have a file share with a videos on in directories, running MiniDLNA and Sony plays everythign thrown at it.

BUT it shows all content as one big lumps, how do you change the way the Sony TV shows these in original Directories they were classified under the shares? is this a DLNA (minidla) limitation or the TV DLNA client.

Hi there

In short, you need to install a proper DLNA server on your PC to be able to sort via folders. What you are using now, I believe is just a simple SAMBA file share.   Try using Serviio.  There is more information in the following thread: http://community.sony.co.uk/t5/televisions/organising-media-player-on-kdl40w605/m-p/1706281
