Hi,
Just brought a kdl 40ex653 and were having problems connecting our panasonic home cinema to it,it worked previously on our other tv but not this one,ths settings seem right and the cables are connected to the right sockets.
I would appreciate any help.
Just to make sure, what cables do you have connected?
hi we have a scart from the tivo box to tv, a hdmi and 2 phono leads from dvd player/home cinema unit to the tv

Yeah happened to me too just a while ago when I got my new TV. You need an optical audio cable or use HDMI ARC or connect your set to the headphone-output, EX653 doesn't support audio-output for phonos (two leads, the red and white one) anymore.
Or at least that was the case with my model here, I don't know if these can differ between countries?

hi jc it is connected to hdmi arc, there are phono sockets on the back of the tv the red and white plus 3 others,so i guess it still supports it

I believe they're there only for input, not output. Does your home theater support HDMI ARC?
yes and its connected that way
Then I'm out of ideas, sorry.
ok jc thanks.
