I have recently purchased a Sony VAIO SVE1711X1E laptop and was looking to add 2 monitors as well as using the laptops screen, so 3 displays in total. The laptop uses a Radeon HD 7650 card with eyefinity options in the catalyst control centre for multiple screens. However the two inputs on the laptop, HDMI and VGA, are too close together to be able to use both at the same time. Is this Sonys way of saying that it's not possible to run 2 external monitors?
If it's not possible does anyone know of a device that can make this happen?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Consty1,
welcome to Questions & Answers..:smileyhappy:
You could try using an external device something like the Matrox DualHead2Go - this is old link but see more here..
There also may be similar products avialable now so may be worth having a search around..:smileywink:
Thanks for the reply.
Digging a bit deeper it seems you can run a monitor through a USB 3.0 to HDMI lead as well.
I should add that the laptop doesn't have a displayport.
