I hope I have understood you correctly, my German is not so good!
A CD-writer for your model would be the PCGA-DDRW1, this is compatable with the PCMCIA slot and matches the VAIO aesthetically!
Additionally, it will not only play your DVD's it also burns DVD's, both + and - !
I hav'nt seen many around recently, so you will need to hunt one down on the web (Not sure what is available in South Africa)!
Alternatively you could always use a iLink (firewire) drive from any manufacturer... ...a much cheaper option!
