GRT816S has Pioneer DVR-K12 instead of Sony DW-U50A HELP

I have recently purchased a GRT816S
Done all the latest updates except that when it came to the
firmware update for the DVD writer I found that my machine
had a PIONEER DVD-K12 fitted instead ofthe SONY DW-U50A.

Is there a Firmware Update available for the
Pioneer DVD-K12 to add support for writing on a 1 to 4 DVD+RW
or ami I utnlucky in that my machine happens to have the Pioneer fitted

LOL Pioneer are very good, don't knock them.

You'd have to do a Google search for the firmware.

My warning to you is stay away from the new firmware that is available on the Sony Support Site. Just flashed to 1.10 and none of my copied DVDs will play on this machine anymore. aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Anyone got the 1.0 firmware?
