Help need with Sony Vaio names

Hi Guys

Have had several Vaio lap tops and always get confused with their names! What is on the bottom isn't always the 'official' name. I now have a  Vaio VPCSB (at bottom right corner, below screen) or is it a V3C5PCSB3C5E (sticker on bottom) or a PCG-4121GM as printed on the bottom?

None of these names is recognised by the UK Sony help site!

Any help appreciated!

Hi julianj,

You are not alone in your confusion over the difference between model numbers, product numbers and the array of references provided.

The best way to check the product reference number is to open Vaio Control Centre > System Information. This should give you the ‘Model Name’ that will be recognised on the Support site. In your case it will start with VPCSB - possibly VPCSB3C5E.
