monitor output

I currently have a sony vaio PCG-SR31K which is connected up to a monitor. I was wonderring if there is a possible way of keeping the screen on the laptop off at all times and keeping the monitor output screen on.

I currently have to function the hotkey combination of Fn+F8 to switch off the laptop monitor

That's the only way I know of doing it.
