one pc two pda's

I use a Palm m505 in my VAIO and my wife now wants to install her Clie and hotsync it with Outlook under her profile in WinXP. The trouble is, when she tries to install the Palm OS for Clie a dialogue box identifies the OS for my m505 and asks if we want to install the new version. I'm worried that if we click yes, I won't be able to continue using my pda (my upgrading to Clie is out of question).

In another forum the solution given was to use one pda through a USB port and the other through a serial port. However, users of VAIO PCG-GRT768M like me will know that we don't have serial ports, but three USB ones.

Any help much appreciated.

Have you tried clicking "no"? Hopefully it was be o.k but set a system restore point first, just incase.

'No' was all I dared click. I was worried that if I clicked 'yes' it'd override the m505 settings.

Did you try the clié-link knowledge center ? http://www.clie-link.com/UK/knowledgecenter.asp?mainmenu=knowledgecenter.asp

Kind regards,

Due to the way that Clie and Palm devices use the Hotsynch program, we have not been successful in having two dissimilar PDAs on the same PC. Multiple Clies or multiple Palms - that's OK. We'll keep researching.
