shut down

My new VA10 starts to shut down when asked..but everytime I am told a programme is still open and it will force a shut down.  As far as I know I shut down each programme.  I also have had to switch on in safe mode..something is up and I don't know what.:smileysad:

Do you know what application it says is still running?

Some applications continue to run even thought hey appear to be shutdown, Microsoft Outlook commonly doesn't shutdown for quite a while after it disappears from the screen.
