Hi Ironstone1 and welcome.

Your missing driver is the 'Sony Firmware Extendion Parser' or SFEP driver.

You don't give us the model of Vaio you own so I can't give you a direct link to the driver but you will usually find it in the Downloads Section of the Support Website for your particular model.

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support

The SFEP driver is usually independent of the Windows version. If you still have difficulties, come back quoting your Vaio Model.

For some reason, best known to themselves, Sony have more than one model name for each Vaio laptop. One is used exclusively for their internal use and probably is a chassis type which can be common to many similar laptops. The other is used for everything else - Support, Downloads, Help etc. You, of course are quoting Sony's internal model name which does not exist on any Sony website.

The correct model Vaio you have will be something like VGN-SR51xx. Have a look for this model name and then go to the Sony Support website to look for compatible downloads for your model.

For example, go here for the support pages for the VGN-SR51MF:-

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/laptop-pc-vgn-series/vgn-sr51mf

Under 'DOWNLOADS' you will find the 32/64bit SFEP driver (you will need to press 'more')

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/vgn-series-vgnsr500-series/vgn-sr51mf/downloads/Z0003285

There may be other utilities you may wish to download to get things to work.

Good Luck

Ok thanks, i found the correct model number it's: VGN-SR59VG_H

I managed to obtain it through the command line (cmd.exe), using the "WMIC CSPRODUCT GET NAME" command.
