Sony MP3 players

I decided a week or so ago I wouldn't mind an MP3 player and to my surprise while looking around that Sony don't appear to do Mp3 players anymore. I find this strange as they were one of the the first companies to chuck them out, yet now when they have become very popular they don't make them. Anyone got any ideas why? Plus anyone got any reccommendations for a budget MP3 player?

Hi Street,

Yeah they did that because they don't want people copying CDs or downloading mp3 from KaZaA and using it on their products, after all Sony is a record company too. So they went and made ATRAC.

I would go for an iPod, good all rounder, shame about the 8hr battery life, but they're really good.

thanks, well yeah i would go for a iPod if funds would allow.

The thing I find funny about sony getting upset about people making illgal copies of music is that they were one of the companies that brought out the affordable Cd writers and all.

I know, it's a world gone crazy.
They were hoping everyone would be good and only copy their own stuff and not copyrighted music.

Very niave.
