There’s a outlook ost file that I could open in Sony VAIO Duo on Windows 8.1. However, after the Windows 10 update, I suddenly can’t open it anymore. It gives the following message, ‘Your outlook data file cannot be configured’.
I googled for this, i get many solutions for all other formats except ost files issue.
TY for you time and attention
Solved! Go to Solution.
- Exit Outlook and browse to one of the following file locations:
- Open SCANPST.EXE.
- Select Browse to select the Outlook Data File (.ost) you want to scan. If you need help locating your Outlook Data - - File, see Locating the Outlook Data Files.
- Choose Start to begin the scan.
- If the scan finds errors, choose Repair to start the process to fix them.
- Shows results of scanned Outlook .ost data file using the SCANPST.EXE
- When the repair is complete, start Outlook with the profile associated with the Outlook Data File you just repaired.
If that not works take a look here how to open ost files.
Hi Jack,
Welcome to the Sony Community.
I'm looking into this and will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Sean Mc
Hi Jack.
I'd recommend checking with Microsoft on this one as the updates are pushed directly by them and Outlook is an Microsoft application as well.
