Tryed to upgrade windows,and now laptop wont boot.

Hello,please help me,i tryed to updTE BIOS,AND IT FREEZED and then it wot boot,cooler works,ad lights...what do i do???

Hi Alex1908,

What model do you have and which BIOS update did you install and from what source?

Are you able to enter the BIOS by tapping F2 at boot - if so try resetting to defaults.

Otherwise as a last ditch attempt try shutting down, remove the power adaptor and battery and then hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Reattach battery and power adaptor and attempt to boot.

THank you fror reply,but it didnt work ,my model r is vpcf13e1e,i installed the bios update from sony europe site,i hear the coolers,lights but black screen.please help.Tank you

In that case you will need to contact Support if your Vaio is within warranty or one of the Sony repair partners.

It is possible that re-flashing the chip may solve the problem but at worst you may need a new BIOS chip or a replacement motherboard. Speak to Support in the first instance.
