VPCEH3N6E Touchpad not working

The touch pad of my VIAO has stopped working. The mouse pointer is in the center of the screen and does not react to any touchpad actions. I have restarted the notepad many time but of no use. The external mouse thru the USB works fine.

Can you help me resolve the issue?

Hi imSonyuser,

Check that within Vaio Control Center > Keyboard and Mouse > Pointing Device that the touchpad is enabled. With some models the Touchpad can be enabled/disabled by holding down the Fn key and pressing F1.

Also check in Device Manager under Mice and other pointing devices that you have a Touchpad listed and that it is reported as working correctly (Properties).

Given the above information we may have a better idea of whether this is a software or hardware problem.
