there's actually a neat little trick that you can do to completely disable the percentage being displayed right beside the battery. If you swipe down towards the top of your screen you'll see the settings icon hanging out with all of your other settings in that category, if you hold that down for a few seconds the settings icon should either blank or rotate or do something to catch your attention. This will then and nabal a secret setting on the phone within your actual Setting\System all the way down to "System UI Settings"
