Hi, I would like to have Android's spell checker enabled across all apps, but when I go to settings - > languages & input - > spell checker - > default spell checker there are no options in the pop up window ? How does one install a language library for the spell checker?
You're right, one way or the other is the app that decides what type of keyboard pops up.
What you can influence is the language that is checked.
When you install several languages it switches (moisture as if by magic) to the right language. Besides you can change language on the fly.
As I understand it, the keyboard selected has its own predictive typing or autocorrect feature that can be set up in the keyboard settings. I am not referring to this. I am talking about the spell checker that comes with Android and is set up in language and input settings.
I'm having same issue!
