Mobile network connection dropping frequently

I have bought a new Xperia XA a week ago and now facing severe issues with mobile network connection. Network is dropping very frequently and most of the people who calls me complains that they have to try 2 or 3 times to get me connected .

Did any one experience similar problems with Xperia devices ??

Hi @Max29, apologizes for the late reply and I'm sorry to hear about this. Slightly_frowning_Face

Does this behaviour occur on very specific locations or does it occur everywhere? The SIM card that you have in your phone, is that a new one or are you using the one that you had in your previous phone?

I would recommend that you start with changing the preferred network type in your phone and limit it to 3G and check if people that call you still can't get through on the first try. You can change this if you go to Settings > More > Mobile networks > Preferred network type > 3G/WCDMA Only.

You can also try with another SIM card in your phone if you have a spare one that is activated or if you can borrow one from a friend, colleague or family member.

Let me know how it went!

Yes, I have the same problem. Sometimes I can't answer my calls. I can't hear the person calling. Very annoying.

Hi @Nett, sorry to hear about that. Slightly_frowning_Face

Have you had the chance to try what I suggested to @Max29? If you haven't tried that, I would recommend doing that!

Let me know if there was any change!

I have tried almost all possible ways as you discussed above and finally I have put GSM only as the preferred connection type and found some improvements in the network connections but not satisfactory.

I have used same sim in my Iphone6 and found working good .

let me know in case of any other recommendations

@Max29

even if the SIM card works with your old phone, it wouldn't hurt to get a new SIM card.

Hi again @Max29,

As @uliwooly mentioned, trying with a brand new SIM card is a great way to see if this is caused by the network or if you can borrow another SIM card from a friend, colleague or family member (a new SIM card is preferred).

If there is no change or if don't have the option to borrow a SIM card or get a hold of a new one, you can perform a software repair using Xperia Companion.

Do note that this will delete all data stored on the internal storage of your phone so creating a backup using Xperia Companion before starting with the repair is advised.

Keep us posted!
