Just got a new Sony Xperia XA but having big issues with connecting onto the WiFi in work. I can get connected intermittantly but more often than not it just fails with authentication issues (all passwords etc are correct as it does connect maybe 1 time out of 20) . I've tried in safe mode as suggested on other posts. The WiFi at home seems fine no issues there. If I cant get a solution to this then it's going back to Virgin Mobile. Running Android 6.0.1 & build number 33.2.a.3.81 kernel version 3.18.22+ .
Anyone got any ideas?????
My wife has been having this issue on her XA for weeks. Thanks for the Bluetooth workaround tip! Found potential fix over at XDA, changing the wifi router authentication to include TKIP protocol. We've made the change, but can't report on stability yet. See the link... https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908355
That seems to have fixed it for me too, but this is a terrible flaw. Ive never had this problem with my Samsung or Iphone phones.
I have the same problem at home. BT router works fine for laptop, tablet and iPhone but not my Xperia.
it's OK after turn off and on again. Now have to do this two or three times a day. It was OK for months until a few days ago.
It's not the router. Getting same problem at Waitrose.
Log in to WiFi.. doesn't see Internet.. restart phone.. works perfectly.
It's either Android or Xperia.
Having same issues with wifi, keeps dropping and refusing to sign back on. I reset the phone and it works for a short while then drops. This is a home network, my iPhone never drops, neither do my computers. Only the Sony ultra xa. It's funny how this so called Sony representative is so smug in his answers. Thanks to the user who gave a heads up about turning off Bluetooth. Sony thus us a glitch on your part, please resolve the issue, we bought the phones, we expect them to work. This will be my last Sony phone.

Hi
Is there a DLNA, Server, or Device on the network that can or has an open port for Bonjour service?
Your question about Bonjour may be relevant but I have no idea how to answer it

Get this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.overlook.android.fing&hl=en
Then start checking each non-mobile device for any Bonjour TCP Services
If you find any Bonjour enabled devices, make sure that the router sets port forwarding to the corresponding devices.
Next thing to do is to remove saved networks on the Apple devices, restart, then manually add the WiFi SSID.
If the MacOS and iOS devices are not set to a static IP and no port-forwarding has been configured on the network router, this can be problematic, because the Apple devices just start spamming every device on the network.
When I diagnose network faults with Apple devices connected, the first thing I do is disable Bonjour. Then I can make sense of the rest of what's happening without that garbage interfering
So is the problem probably caused by the iPad and iPhone in our house?
The issue is not specific to iPhone, iPad users. My wife has the same issue work her phone, and we have no Apple products on the network.
