WiFi connections constant issue with XA

Just got a new Sony Xperia XA but having big issues with connecting onto the WiFi in work. I can get connected intermittantly but more often than not it just fails with authentication issues (all passwords etc are correct as it does connect maybe 1 time out of 20) . I've tried in safe mode as suggested on other posts. The WiFi at home seems fine no issues there. If I cant get a solution to this then it's going back to Virgin Mobile. Running Android 6.0.1 & build number 33.2.a.3.81 kernel version 3.18.22+  .

Anyone got any ideas?????

Try this:

In Settings under Wireless and Networks, open More, then do Network settings reset.

It's part of a factory reset but keeps all your apps and data.

I got this after fighting my way through to chat to Sony Support. It seems to work for me but time will tell.

Sadly that didn't work for long. Had to restart again this morning

I tried again with Sony chat. They persuaded my to install a software cleaner on my laptop.

I did backup, ran the cleaner and restored from the backup. This took about three hours so far.

Unfortunately the backup does not restore system settings. I had to do everything manually including my mail and WiFi passwords.

After a day I don't think I am quite back as I was but the WiFi problem seems to have gone.

Try this if you are desperate and have a few hours to spare.

I hope this helps.

Mobile Data and Data Saver make it difficult to see how similar my new setup is.

After a few days I think the same problem is coming back. I went to Waitrose WiFi.. Had to restart... Came home... Had to restart..

Is the Bluetooth workaround not working for you? If you turn off Bluetooth, the phone is typically able to resolve the wifi connection. No need to restart.

If you stand on one leg and sing your national anthem, it resolves the issue.

I need Bluetooth. It's taken weeks to get Fitbit working well and Fitbit uses Bluetooth

It is surely the combination of WIFI active and Bluetooth at the same time, which gives us all those troubles. Sure there is a work around by switching off Bluetooth enable to have a stable WIFI but this can not be the solution. So Sony technician and support, start working and solve this issue soonest with your next update, before all world is getting anoyed with the low quality of service ability recently coming in.

Same problem again so I tried the Bluetooth option. It seems to work.

Maybe I have to just turn Bluetooth on and off when I need it.

It would be nice to have a comment from Sony.

If you do an internet search you will find this is a widespread problem. The solution is to turn off Bluetooth when you aren't using it (probably good practice for security anyway). Since I found this work around I've not had any problem with the Wifi connection. Not sure why Sony haven't fixed the problem with a software update. Maybe it's a hardware issue.
