Battery drains off 2 times faster after updating to 10.1.A.1.434

Hello,

I experience much lower battery life after updating to 10.1.A.1.434.

Before that the I had to charge the phone every 2-3 days. Now it requires charging almost every day (can't go over 1,5 day even with limited usaged).

Android OS consumes 2 times more battery. It was 24% before the update and now it's 50%+.

I suspect the wireless driver is causing it as when I (or location-based wi-fi) switch the Wi-Fi off then the Android OS goes back to normal.

I liked the battery life before - my record was 3,5day with Stamina mode OFF and both Wi-Fi (connected) and Bluetooth (disconnected) ON all the time and syncing 2 Google accounts and 1 Exchange until battery capacity was below 30%.

Now I'm quite disappointed.

Any plans to fix this bug soon? Or any way of reverting back to 10.1.A.1.350?

Thanks & best

pda, what is your brightness setting you normally use? Do you use Stamina mode? What do you have enabled? Do you often use 3G network? I wish my Xperia Z last for 2 days... 😕

azzido, my brightness is set to ~80% with auto-adjust. I don't use Stamina, I rather take a benefit of LED which says me when to wake up the phone. I have both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on all the time even in low-battery mode. Most of the time I'm in 3G covered areas (no LTE here).

I've identified apps below as main battery drainers:

- Google+ - when I had photo/video auto-upload on, the battery went down pretty fast

- Native E-Mail app connected to Exchange servers - after 2-3 weeks it started to bomb the Exchange server and the only remediation was to delete and re-create Exchange account on the phone. I started to use Touchdown from Nitrodesk instead and it's much better.

On my Z, it shows that the screen is consuming40% of the battery.

it has been more than a month since i updated my phone.

any suggestion?

depends how much screen time you have but yes if the screen is on offten it will consume

40% of battery is exactly what it says - it could be 40% of 5% battery drain - it's all relative and quite normal, there are many htreads here on the subject, have a browse round the forum
