UK Sony Xperia Z updates for unbranded phones.

Could somebody from Sony please explain why thousands of us are now 3 updates behind now regarding firmware updates?

We are still on 434!

How do we get Sonys attention on this?

I would like to know how this question can be presumed answered? What about a ballpark date? I bought the unbranded Xperia Z via expansys on release in February! Since then I had one update which addressed the "bricking" and no more! The phone has meanwhile been released in my country and the local operators (even the one I have my sim card: TMN) have it on the latest firmware version! What gives?

I have a 64 Gb card and want to take full advantage of it, the latest firmware is said to support it... now where is it?

Please be transparent, explain why the latest firmwares are not being released for unbranded UK phones.

Hey Zunido, you're right, Sony really need to explain themselves. Just in case you didn't know, you CAN use your 64 Gb card even on the 4.1.2 ROM, you just need to format it in the phone before use. My SanDisk 64b Ultra has been working fine in my XZ since I got the phone in February.

support needs to inform the higher ups of this but instead they copy and paste the same shit over and over. treating us like monkeys

Thanks for the info, I also have a SanDisk 64b Ultra. I was aware of the possibility to use it since automatically gets formatted in the storage manager. Unfortunately it is very unstable and sometimes automatically unmounts, even so the fat32 limitations make no sense in this day and age.

Zunido, a bit off topic here, but I had the same problem with my first 64gb SanDisk Ultra card, I exchanged it, and the new card worked perfectly. Turned out to be a faulty card.

So still no explanation from Sony.  It's just being blatantly ignored for whatever reason and all of us Z unbranded owners still are 3 updates behind.   You would of thought any mods would have the decency to say something on the matter!   Even if it was that they didn't have a clue what was going on!

Thanks for the info, I ordered mine from Amazon UK, maybe I can still return it. Sometimes it works well for days, then all of a sudden it will unmount. I would like to test it with newer firmware since its stated in their changelog: "Support for bigger (64GB) SD card so that you can store even more on your Xperia™"

Sony ignore you once they realise that their nothing that they can or are bothered to do. Sonymobile is based in Sweden and sell its products viz Holland so essentialy they are not bothered as there is almost no comeback for them in the UK.

This is absurd! Its like everyone that compromises through a carrier has firmware upgrades, but the customers who buy original unbranded, pure sony devices get the cold shoulder! I understand that carriers provide sony with big sums of money since they must buy large quantities of inventory. But is it so hard to release an unbranded barebones-with-no-customisation firmware! C'mon!

Please sony, I like my Xperia Z, I think its a great phone, just don't do this second class citizen policy to your loyalest customers that are willing to pay full price for your flagship device.
