UK Sony Xperia Z updates for unbranded phones.

Could somebody from Sony please explain why thousands of us are now 3 updates behind now regarding firmware updates? 

We are still on 434!

How do we get Sonys attention on this?

Who here still has bugs in the 434 version? Re Sony not updating just post comments on other websites so people know the problems with Sony; and it is all fair comment.

Just did a quick count on the Xperia customisations which have been updated. There seems to have been about 59 firmware customisations already updated, with 49 still to go according to Xda-developers thread. So I'm guessing there could still a few weeks to wait before any update for UK unbranded handsets.

Take that is 49 customisations for this firmware release. The problem is that there is no guarantee that they will complete it. We missed on the other firmwares updates. Looks like it is happening again.

I just don't see how an unbranded phone firmware has to wait for "customisation" or "certification" of its "customisation". The process should be more transparent to avoid that people feeling cheated for being too trusting that an unbranded devide would have faster updates due to the lack of carrier "customisation".

What makes me feel sad is that we (people that buy our own devices - not service contracts) are a minority... and are being treated  like such

Interesting Sony Generic UK is, it appears from XDA thread, the only generic in the world still running 434. Any explaination for that? Would anyone for Sony even care to acknowledge this thread.

Madonna168, it has been answered by the lack of an answer in my opinion. It isn't going to arrive and we need to flash our phones!

Although 4.2.2 isn't spectacularly different and in fact seems to be causing problems for some XZ owners, it's crazy how we are so far behind now.

I just feel it's only right for Sony to explain why throughout the world XZ handsets both branded and unbranded are now running the newest verion of Android and we aren't.

A promise made by Sony prior to the release of the handset.

I got mine on the day of release by pre-order and am now 1/4 of the way through my contract and already have a handset that is behind the times! I like many are reluctant to flash my phone but moreover don't see why I should!

A current flagship phone now with dated firmware - how odd!

HTC One and S4 are the direct competitor and have been on the market for less time, but will have 4.2.2 before us.

Come on Sony at least talk to us!
