Could somebody from Sony please explain why thousands of us are now 3 updates behind now regarding firmware updates?
We are still on 434!
How do we get Sonys attention on this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I don't think that will be of any help. At least in Belgium, Sony Centers are run independently (franchise).
7 pages and still nothing said by Sony!! Yet you look at other posts with other questions and see how quickly it's answered!!
Still no unbranded update!
Unfortunately, the Sony Xperia support people are very selective in which questions they answer and which they choose to ignore... Same with this thread: http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/495374
@Sony: ignoring problems does not make them go away. You will lose customers and damage your brand reputation because of this.
Worrying that the people who help on this website are individuals such as you who, thankfully, know how these phones work and what they are doing. What happens if individuals such as you do not reply to posts?
Anyone contemplating buying an Xperia Z would do well to read this thread. Everyone knows that firmware support is vital to a modern phone.
Still nothing.
Tempted to test out this thread by seeing if I get noticed making an extreme sexist/racist or homophobic comment.
See if any forum moderators actually exist on here and ban me - at least we'd know then.
Fuckers hiding away from any posts with "4.2.2" in them, shit in fact any posts with "434" in them.
Oh yeh, still no news of course.
Feel free to call me anything you like lol
Seriously though "Sony Support Team" that's a joke in its self.
Moderators know nothing about this which is the harsh reality. Its a Sony decision made at upper management. Why would be good thing to know. Complain directly via customer support who do nothing but it is their role.
SONY stopped supporting this phone in the UK in April and that is that!
I just gave up today, unlocked the bootloader and installed CyanogenMod 10.1. I don't think there will ever be an update from Sony, and even if there were I wouldn't trust them to get further updates/patches/security fixes out in a timely manner.
It's running like a dream now, although I did have to buy a couple of apps (CameraFX and DS battery saver pro, like Stamina mode) to get a better experience.
I should have done this weeks ago. In any case, I'm free from Sony and of course when my next upgrade comes round I'll be choosing anything but Sony. If you're not afraid to flash your phone, and have good backups of anything you care about, you could do worse than to look at http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_yuga. Of course, it will invalidate your warranty...
Unlocking your bootloader indeed voids your warranty. Sony's firmware is great, just change to Generic ES (or any other customization that has been updated). No bootloader unlock required and you'll be one of the first to receive future updates from Sony.
