Could somebody from Sony please explain why thousands of us are now 3 updates behind now regarding firmware updates?
We are still on 434!
How do we get Sonys attention on this?

I thought the same the reason virgin media and possibly T mobile phones don't have the up date is because they supply unbranded hand sets.
Thanks Nick one more question though where do i find my customisation number on my phone ?
2nd i dont see a listing for t-mobile/orange or EE which in technicality is the Network signal i am using.
Could that be why no update has come to Virgin UK phones ??
flashing is risky actually - some people have experienced problems which is why i choose not to, and sony states that it MAY void warranty. plus it is up to sony, not us to get an update!
Please read the post I linked to:
Your customization number can be found in your service menu (dial *#*#7378423#*#* > 'Service info' > 'Software info' > 'Customization Version').
Look up customization numbers easily by pressing Ctrl-F (Windows/Linux) or Command-F (Mac).
Update availability is solely based on your customization number, not the network signal you are using. You will have Generic UK firmware, just like T-Mobile, Orange, EE, etc.
Could I later revert back to UK if the update is released next year (we wouldn't want Sony to push the boat out too far)?
next year i and everybody else would have moved onto another brand which releases updates fairly and have good communication between company and customers - something which sony clearly lacks!!
If you say 'flashing is risky', that means you don't know how it actually works. If you update your phone with Sony PC Companion or Sony Update Service, it gets flashed too. Flashtool uses exactly the same method to do this, so no extra risks are involved. Don't let them fool you, your warranty will not and can not be void by flashing official firmware from Sony, without unlocking your bootloader.
If you really want to update through Sony PC Companion, you can do this:
1. Root your phone temporary
2. Change your customization number to 1270-6697 (Generic ES) for example
3. You will receive the update through Sony PC Companion and the root will be erased again.
See part A of this guide: [GUIDE] Download ANY firmware customization from Sony & create an FTF with Flashtool
Ok Thanks Nick so from your info and checking my customisation number i have a generic software - so i am guessing this is the version that everyone is saying needs to be rolled out but has not. CORRECT ??
thanks but i know all this information, however i would rather do it through the official way so if anything does go wrong, it wouldn't be down to my own doing, ya know?
Yes, you can simply revert back to Generic UK by flashing a Generic UK FTF or by changing your customization number back to 1270-7689.
