UK Sony Xperia Z updates for unbranded phones.

Could somebody from Sony please explain why thousands of us are now 3 updates behind now regarding firmware updates? 

We are still on 434!

How do we get Sonys attention on this?

yes that's what I meant - I posted that message at 5am in the morning after coming home from a party lol - don't know how it came out so well

as far as updates there are also other factors but my post in general remains the same - I believe Sony has lost these devices for some reason - in my opinion only

they need to sort it

Got back from holidays and flashed the generic Spanish ROM after getting tired of waiting all these weeks.The Spanish ROM works well, no problems with flashing without wiping, A few nice new features, and I'm not suffering from the lag some users are reporting.

I would advise anyone on this thread, who has been pulling their hair out waiting for the generic UK ROM to flash the Spanish one, it's easy with full step-by-step- instructions on XDA-DEVELOPERS.

As for Sony, they are an absolute disgrace of a company, and they will still never see another penny of my money.

What is the proplem with pushing out the update? Have they got someone in their bedroom using a Sinclair ZX Spectrum and a dial up connection serving the updates?

There's no excuse, Every other phone manufacturer can push out an update worldwide, within a week. Even amateur developers without budgets are pushing out updates at a rate that put Sony to shame.

Just remember this fiasco the next time you're tempted by some piece of Sony hardware.

Ok everyone i know you all have been trying to load 4.2.2 jelly bean in the correct fashion and loads have given up and either flashed it or are just waiting (albeit terribly frustrated and indicating not buying a sony again)

But i read the not always good or reliable website called http://www.sonyxperiaz.co.uk/ which in JUne announced the 4.2.2 jelly bean being rolled out for xperia Z but now again have posted this yesterday but also mentioning various ways to get the software.

Is it finally going to roll out to those of us with - EE/Orange/T-Mobile/Virgin Mobile or sim free phones or is this just a misleading article ??

Any ideas ??

PS I am on Virgin Mobile (EE,OPrange,Tmobile) which is classed as generic software

You can add me to the list of disgruntled customers.

There is no excuse for the device to be 3 updates behind in one of Sonys largest market.

There is no network authorisation to get through since they are simfree.

I too have contacted them, they have first given the generic repsonce that it is gradual but after telling them that 3 updates behind in not gradual it is negligence. They have told me that they will investigate it.

I do not think anything will come of it, I suggest that all users contact sony and pressure them into finding a solution.

SONY do not make sense that have announced very quickly that Z owners amongst others will get 4.3 for F**K sake we have not even received 4.2 never mind some minor updates to 4.1.

Surely there is a mechanism to highlight this to someone like ANDROID CENTRAL who make try and get a SONY response for us all.

According to this link on Android Central some devices will go from 4.1 to 4.3 suggesting its ready to put out there - i cant even imagine us who are still waiting might for once get it first.
