UK Sony Xperia Z updates for unbranded phones.

Could somebody from Sony please explain why thousands of us are now 3 updates behind now regarding firmware updates?

We are still on 434!

How do we get Sonys attention on this?

O2 IE firmware, which was stuck on 10.1.A.1.434 too, has just been updated to 10.3.1.A.0.244 (the latest version). If this was the reason for the delay of the Generic UK update, then you might receive an update soon. All branded UK and IE firmwares have been updated to Android 4.2.2 (build 10.3.A.0.423 or 10.3.1.A.0.244) now.

Even if we get the update because o2 got it, I am still annoyed as it should have no bearing on the release for generic devices. Why should we be last? Their update system is a complete joke! We should be first, our devices are not network subsidised.

If a mobile operator does not approve a firmware update because it causes problems on their network, the generic version might be delayed too, to prevent problems with generic phones on their network. Generic IE firmware does not exist, so I suppose Generic UK is also being sold in Ireland.

I don't see how a firmware update has any bearing on the cellular reliabilit. The devices physical antennas do not change during an update.

In Portugal, for example, their generic software is well upfront one of those on a network. The same is the case in other territories.

Networks must test the device because it is their responsibility to provide the service. Whilst, generic devices are not the responsibility of the network.

It has happened before that certain firmware updates did not work nicely on certain mobile networks (even on iPhone). A firmware update usually also includes a baseband update.

It is said that mobile operators in certain territories have agreements with Sony concerning the release of generic firmware updates too.

Nearly 20,000 views and STILL no response from any sony mod!  Not one explanation,  not a single apology and you have had more than enough time to find out what the problem is and get back to this thread with a satisfactory answer?

Is it 4 updates we are now behind still in the UK?

We have been ignored by Sony and the mods on here which is complete negligence.

Sony you are a Disgrace.
