UK Sony Xperia Z updates for unbranded phones.

Could somebody from Sony please explain why thousands of us are now 3 updates behind now regarding firmware updates? 

We are still on 434!

How do we get Sonys attention on this?

Anyone who thinks the standard camera is painfully slow as I do! I can highly reccomend side loading the stock nexus camera apk. Picked up the link from xda and it loads quicker takes photos far faster and you get photosphere thrown in. A small a victory this whole debacle.

There are plenty of bugs that the firmware update is needed for. The  camera was improved in firmware update 307 and the 4.2.2 update appears  to have fixed certain corruption bugs in Walkman. The firmware updates  are done for a reason otherwise people would not waste their time  programming them nor incur the costs assocated with releasing them. 434 is the most buggy of the firmware releases for about 6 weeks from May through to early July there were problems the microphone that manifested themselves in vocie search etc and video would not record, see the various posts on here and XDA about that issue, if we had had the then uptodate firmware release we, or at least I, would not have had to endure those problems; it was a laugh having a smartphone that could not even record a video.

no update yet btw my nexus 7 recived 4.3 update and im having some issues , like my hotspot shield was woked on 4.2 but on 4.3 it says , ur device is not compatable with this version and i had chaos ring game installed and its not opening anymore

and ill wait long as i can , i dont want to flash my mobile , cus i have no idea what harm will it do to my mobile so please sony give us update time

Haha! What do you think happens when you update/restore using Sony PC Companion? Guess what? Your phone also gets flashed, in exactly the same way as when using Flashtool.

Flashtool may seem a bit scary (because it's an unofficial tool), but all it does it exactly the same as Sony PC Companion and Sony Update Service. Also, there is no significant difference between generic firmwares for different regions.

After that, you'll receive all future updates very quickly. No root or bootloader unlock required, so no loss of warranty.

Louis:  The update to Android 4.2.2 has began rolling out for the Xperia Z however this is a graduall rollout and depends on where the handset was purchased as well as the network provider. I understand you have an unbranded and unlocked device. These handsets are still intended to receive the update however we don't sadly have a time frame as to when each device will receive the update.

james:  so you've basically gave me an answer thats been told over and over again and if no update has been issued by the end of this month then i'll be selling my xperia z and going over to samsung as you clearly don't see uk unbranded customers and you'd rather update network branded handsets before unbranded ones when clearly unbranded xperia z don't requaire networks to push the updates

Louis:  I apologise that i am unable to give you any further information in regards to when the updates will be released. These handset are still expected to get the update and should receive the Android 4.2.2 software.

Dude, seriously, what did you expect her to say? It's quite clear we won't got an answer from customer service, because they just don't know, which as I said before, is not their fault,so give them some slack.

no cause i knew i'd get the same response as the other times that i've contacted xperia care and tbh i'm gonna give upon waiting for the update and flash the spannish firmware to my phone in the next few days

So as it stands (what a surprise) still no update,  still no word from Sony,  and no response from the head of Sony here in Europe Christopher Bowen who I emailed on Friday.  I'll wait for a few more days but if no answer then I'm reporting this on to BBCs programme watchdog. 

I'm prepared to at least give Europe's head of Sony a chance to respond but if not then it's time to up the game.   I'm not going to let this issue rest until we get answers and an update. 

It's shameful that we are now at least 5 updates behind and nothing. 

25,000 views and no response.  Let it be 150 thousand.. I'm not going to stop now.
