Could somebody from Sony please explain why thousands of us are now 3 updates behind now regarding firmware updates?
We are still on 434!
How do we get Sonys attention on this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Warranty is not favour from the manufacturer/seller. It's a legal right. As long as you don't do anything that can damage your product, you won't lose this right. Flashing stock firmware cannot damage your phone, I know what I'm talking about.
By the way, if you follow part A of this guide to change your customization number to 1270-6697 (Generic ES) for example, you don't even have to use Flashtool, you will immediately get the update through Sony PC Companion or Sony Update Service:
[GUIDE] Download ANY firmware customization from Sony & create an FTF with Flashtool
No sign of an update!
This is pretty poor, the updates seems to be on everything now bar my UK unbranded phone, I wouldn't mind if someone posted up a schedule or something but at the moment you feel like they have forgotten about this model.
Hilarious, Sony customer care just replied to me asking where the update is by telling me to ask Google where it is. What a joke of a company and customer care to match.
Just seen that.... My god we have no hope!
They probably lost the stock copy and paste answer and had to think of a new excuse!
I love that.
How helpful. It's also nice to see that Ian Wright (mmmm a false name by any chance?) has a great command of the english language.
.... "product, (comma uppercase) It is 'ran' by Google.
.... "We apologise 'about' the lack..."
and you need to visit Google, well a holiday in Mountain View, CA would be nice!
Complain to the Advertising Standards Agency. I bought the phone on the basis that it would be ugraded to Android 2.2 soon after it was launched that was what it advertised on its website

More people complain the better. I am. Take a look at the ASA website lots of big names that they have taken to task.
Tom
PS that is not a correct statement from Sony the firmware is an integral part of the phone and IS their responsibility.
'Ian Wright', in reality probably some Indian guy in one of those cheap support centers in India lol!
Okay Sony what is happening?
